18th – Afternoon Tea with Fine Cell Work – 2pm-4.30pm, WI Centre, Huntingdon

Rebuilding the lives of prisoners through the transformative power of needle work. Founded in 1997 “Fine Cell Work” is a charity and social enterprise that works with teams of volunteers to train “stitchers” in prison in paid, skilled, and creative needlework in groups across prisons in England. “Stitchers” then work in their cells to create truly beautiful homeware products and gifts for commercial sale. Fine Cell Work items will be on sale and a raffle will be held. Please notify us of any dietary requirements when booking.

2nd – The Lion King Theatre Trip – Lyceum Theatre, London

Experience the wonder of Disney’s The Lion King: The Musical, now in it’s 25th year at London’s Lyceum Theatre!

Coach pick up points:

8.30am – Serpentine Green, Hampton

9am – WI Centre, Huntingdon

9.30am – Riverside Park, St Neots.

Tickets: Members: SOLD OUT

Price includes ticket and return coach travel. Seats are located in the Royal Circle. Lift access available.

5th – Autumn Walk – 10am for 10.30am, Great Staughton Village Hall, The Green, Great Staughton, PE19 5DG.

Join Great Staughton WI for a walk around the historic village of Great Staughton.

Short Walk: (approximately 1 Hour) around the village to see places of interest including The Dial, Place House, St. Andrews Church (open), the Old Vicarage and the Old Chapel

Long Walk: (Approximately 2 Hours) A walk around the surrounding fields and to include highlights of the shorter walk

Tickets: Walk and Lunch: £10 per person / Walk only: £5 per person

9th – Coach Trip to Oxford

Four hours free time to start your Christmas shopping at Westgate, with 100 shops and plentiful eateries. Or walk the historic city, with it’s river walk, ancient colleges, or visit the original OXFAM shop. Oxford boasts the Ashmolean Museum and is the home of Inspector Morse. 12th – Quiz Night – 7pm-9pm, Abbots Ripton Village Hall, PE28 2PF

Test your knowledge at our Quiz Night! Teams of 4 people, which can include one non-member. Bring your own drinks, snacks and glasses.

Tickets: £15 per team, which can be taken from your WI funds.

16th – Light Project Peterborough Coffee Morning – 10am-12pm, WI Centre, Huntingdon

Hear from Steven Pettican, CEO, about the work of this incredible organisation who strive tirelessly to support some of our most vulnerable and in need people struggling with their mental health, the challenge of homelessness or battling addiction. Enjoy a cup of coffee and delicious homemade biscuits.

6th – Zoo Nights: 24 Hours Visiting ZSL London Zoo – 10am-12pm, WI Centre, Huntingdon

Roaring lions at 5am in the middle of a London park? It’s not what you’d expect! Come along to our coffee morning and hear what it is like to spend the night at ZSL London Zoo, sleeping next door to the flamingos & lions! Listen to stories about their animals and learn how their conservation work is protecting endangered animals world-wide.

Tickets: £5 per person, to include talk, tea/coffee, and cake.

9th – Poetry Workshop – 2pm-4pm, WI Centre

Enjoy an interactive poetry workshop with Leanne Moden, with plenty of fun and friendly activities for writers of all abilities.

13th – Christmas Dabble Day – 10am-3pm, WI Centre

Spend the day creating Christmas crafts. Choose what you make on the day, you will have time to make more than one item. Choose from:

An Origami Box
